The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Andrew Levine, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving neglected shows from the past, has announced its upcoming 2013-2014 season that includes the world premiere of Inventing Mary Martin and the Off-Broadway premiere of Love, Linda: The Life of Mrs. Cole Porter, in addition to the highly acclaimed Musicals in Mufti Series that will highlight the works of the legendary Sheldon Harnick. Highlights of the fall schedule will be a Developmental Lab presentation of Buddy's Tavern, a "New2NY" staged concert of Jack: A Musical Drama on the Life of John F. Kennedy, and a one night concert of Six Wives by Joe Masteroff and Edward Thomas.
The 2013-2014 season launches in October with a special one-night only performance of the musical, Six Wives, followed by five performances of a"New2NY" staged concert of Jack: A Musical Drama on the Life of John F. Kennedy, with the Developmental Lab of the award-winning Buddy's Tavern rounding out the fall. December brings jazz vocalist Stevie Holland in the off-Broadway premiere Love, Linda: The Life of Mrs. Cole Porter,a Mainstage production by Holland and Gary William Friedman, using Porter's inimitable songs. 2014 begins with The Sheldon Harnick Musicals in Mufti Series featuring a world premiere revue, Sheldon Harnick: A World to Win and the Broadway classic, Tenderloin. The spring Mainstage production, opening in April, is the world premiere musical, Inventing Mary Martin.
