The Harold Clurman Playwrights Division, a program of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, has announced the line-up of the 2015 First Breath New Play Reading Series. New works by Mike Duffy, Adam Kraar and Dan McCabe will be featured during the week of March 23, 2015 in readings that are free and open to the public.
Playwrights Duffy, Kraar and McCabe were all finalists among two hundred writers who submitted full-length plays for consideration in the studio's annual merit-based search for a playwright-in-residence.
The Playwrights Division was created to support emerging playwrights. Said Artistic Director Tom Oppenheim, "Through the Playwrights Division we have been inspired by so many talented, emerging playwrights. In accordance with Stella's deep regard for the playwright, the studio is proud to support gifted writers like Adam Kraar, Mike Duffy and Dan McCabe. The plays read in First Breath are in process and will continue to be developed. It's our honor to hear them read in the studio."
