Signature Theatre is currently staging the new political rock musical The Fix - and Saturday night's performance received a bit of an impromptu interruption.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that midshow a woman stormed the stage - in search of a restroom. She reportedly used the backstage bathroom before being promptly escorted to the lobby by house staff.

"At Signature Theatre we pride ourselves on presenting intimate and environmental productions," press rep James Gardiner told BWW in a statement. "We want our audiences to feel like they are immersed in the world of the show. Just not THAT immersed. We're guessing that she really wanted to take a tour of our onstage White House."

But the show must go on, and it did. Cast members of THE FIX finished the show without any further interruptions.

The woman in search of a restroom is only the latest incident in a string of high-profile theatre fiascos courtesy of rambunctious audience members. Earlier this summer, a patron stormed HAND TO GOD's stage on Broadway in search of an outlet to charge his phone, while a week later, the legendary Patti LuPone snatched a theatregoer's phone mid-performance of SHOWS FOR DAYS Off-Broadway.

With a rock-laced, eclectic score and scandalous lyrics, The Fix skewers the American bureaucratic machine. Reminiscent of Sondheim, with tinges of Kander and Ebb and a voice uniquely its own, it is a darkly brilliant, over-the-top, audaciously fun ride through the shenanigans of political elections.

When a popular presidential candidate dies in his mistress's bed, his ambitious wife Violet thrusts their lackluster son Cal into the spotlight. With the help of her strategic brother-in-law, Violet transforms Cal into the perfect citizen. Together they create one of the most dysfunctional - and brutally entertaining - almost-first families ever.
