On September 18th, the IT Awards (New York Innovative Theatre Awards), the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2006 award recipients at a exceptional evening hosted by Tony-nominee Charles Busch.

Working Man's Clothes took home 6 New York IT Awards for the show To Nineveh: A Modern Miracle, which was the top recipient of the evening, having been recognized 6 times.

Ben Vereen gave a heartfelt presentation to the Artistic Achievement Award recipient, Tom O'Horgan (Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar). O'Horgan felt "pure joy.  Seldom are you given an award for something that is pure joy to do.  Dealing with these actors and sharing something with them makes the pay off wonderful."

Vampire Cowboys, who received the Caffe Cino Fellowship Honorary Award, said "we've been blessed with amazing and talented people around us."

The 15 New York Neo-Futurists, after being recognized for Outstanding Performance Art Production for their show Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind, simultaneously gave their thank you speech.

Iron Curtain, A Musical Commie-dy, won several IT Awards, including Outstanding Production of a Musical.
