Artopia, will be held, Saturday March 13th from 11-2, at PS 334/The Anderson School (100 W. 77th Street) on the Upper West Side. This exciting, family focused event will be free to the public- we will ask for a suggested donation at the door, all proceeds to benefit Wingspan Arts' Free Summer Theatre Conservatory.

Our goal is to provide 3 full hours of interactive arts programming for students and their parents in a number of locations throughout a school. Performances from Wingspan Arts school programs and Conservatory students will run "Mainstage" in the auditorium; while in other rooms we have master classes in Clowning, Drumming and Dance, Hip Hop, and other interactive arts. While people wait for master classes or mainstage performances to start they can purchase raffle tickets (FABULOUS PRIZES) or participate in the ongoing crafts activities, like making a mural for neighborhood display.

This event is supported by a generous grant from the New York City Council, all donations will go directly to scholarship money for students in our Summer Conservatory. For more information visit http://www.wingspanarts.org/

About Wingspan Arts

Our mission is to reach out and expose diverse groups, especially young audiences, to all forms of the performing, visual, media and literary arts. We accomplish this by engaging professional artist-educators who are inspired by the work they do and have a unique gift for sharing that inspiration with students. Since its founding in 2001, thousands of children across the New York Metro Region have benefited from Wingspan Arts' customized arts programs.

The Wingspan Arts Summer Conservatory is a tuition-free program for students 6-12th grade that want to spend their summer focused on the study of theatre or film. This competitive program is audition-based.

Wingspan Arts' Summer Conservatory and other educational programs are generously provided by the New York City Council and the Office of Council Member Gale A. Brewer, The National Endowment for the Arts, The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the Wingspan Arts Board of Directors and Advisory Board, many local PTA's, and individual donors.
