LAByrinth Theater Company's Board of Directors and Artistic Directors, Philip Seymour Hoffman and John Ortiz will present the Fourth Annual LAByrinth Theater Company Benefit featuring Celebrity Charades on Monday, November 13.
The evening will begin with a VIP Reception at Bobby Van's Steakhouse (25 Broad Street at Exchange Place). Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served from 6:30 to 8pm. A silent auction will take place during this time along with the presentation of The Hoghe Award to Daryl Roth in honor of her artistic courage and outstanding dedication to LAByrinth Theater Company.
The main event will begin 8pm at The Downtown Auditorium (41 Broad Street); it will include a Live Auction and Celebrity Charades.
Celebrity players scheduled to appear include LAByrinth Artistic Directors, Philip Seymour Hoffman and John Ortiz, Company Members, Eric Bogosian, Sam Rockwell, Daphne Rubin-Vega and Yul Vázquez, and special guests: The 24 Hour Plays 2006 performers, Erika Christensen, Rachel Dratch, John Hawkes, Anthony Mackie (Drowning Crow) and Julianna Margulies; and Bob Balaban, Bobby Cannavale, Billy Crudup (The Pillowman), Dana Delany (Translations), Noah Emmerich, Edie Falco ('night, Mother), Gina Gershon (Cabaret), Josh Hamilton, Jay Hernandez ("Six Degrees"), S. Epatha Merkerson (The Piano Lesson), Rosie Perez, Cynthia Rowley, Justin Theroux (The Three Sisters) and Robin Williams (Robin Williams: Live on Broadway, Mrs. Doubtfire).
Live Auction items include a chance to play Celebrity Charades on a celebrity team, a collection of Capote memorabilia, a sports package that includes a pair of courtside seats to a New York Knicks game and VIP seats to a New York Rangers game, a pair of tickets to the 2007 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®, a pair of opening night tickets to Jack Goes Boating: an upcoming LAByrinth Theater production written by Bob Glaudini, directed by Peter Dubois and featuring Beth Cole, Philip Seymour Hoffman, John Ortiz, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and a pair of opening night tickets to the upcoming Public Theater production of King Lear by William Shakespeare, directed by James Lapine and featuring Kevin Kline. LAByrinth Theater Company celebrates its 15th Anniversary at its residency at The Public Theater. Founded in 1992 by a group of actors who wanted to push their artistic limits, hone their craft, and create new plays that truly reflected their heritage and experience, LAByrinth is comprised of almost 100 established and emerging theater artists. An ensemble that encourages all members to write, act, direct, and design, LAByrinth supports multidisciplinary growth and exploration in the creation of new work that celebrates the diversity of its New York City home.
