According to Variety, William H. Macy and Marisa Tomei are set to star in the upcoming legal thriller The Lincoln Lawyer.  John Ramano's adaptation of Michael Connelly's book of the same title will be directed by Brad Furman.  Macy and Tomei will be joining Matthew McConaughey, who has been previously attached to the film.  Filming will begin in July, and the release date for the movie is still unknown.

The Lincoln Lawyer revolves around moderately successful criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller, who operates all around the large area of Los Angeles county out of a Lincoln Town Car driven by a former client working off his legal fees.  Most of his clients are drug dealers and gangsters, but the book deals with an unusually important case: the wealthy Los Angeles realtor Louis Roulet is accused of assault and attempted murder by a woman, and at first he appears to be innocent and set up by the "victim".

Tomei's stage credits include the Broadway productions of Wait Until Dark and Salomé and many Off-Broadway shows including: We Won't Pay! We Won't Pay!, Waiting for Lefty, Rocket to the Moon, Design for Living, and Oh The Humanity and Other Good Intentions. Tomei has also appeared in such films as In the Bedroom, the Wrestler, and My Cousin Vinny, for which she received the Academy Award.

Macy was last seen on the stage in Broadway's Speed-the-Plow. He is co-founder of the Atlantic Theater Company, where he has starred in and directed American Buffalo, The Joy of Going Somewhere Definite, Three Sisters, and Boy's Life. Macy's extensive film credits include: Mr. Holland's Opus, Air Force One, Boogie Nights, Pleasantville, Seabiscuit, The Cooler, and Fargo, for which he received an Oscar nomination.
