Will Swenson to Take LES MISERABLES Hiatus Beginning 7/22 for Alliance's BULL DURHAM

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, John Behlmann, Melissa Errico and Will Swenson will star in BULL DURHAM, the new musical based on the beloved 1988 film, which Sports Illustrated proclaimed the "#1 Greatest Sports Movie of All-time." BULL DURHAM will premiere at the Alliance Theatre on September 3, and will run until October 5. Swenson, who will play '"Crash" Davis', will appear in the new musical while on hiatus from the Broadway revival of Les Miserables, where he currently stars as Javert. Swenson will be gone July 22 through October 5. A replacement has not yet been announced.

Directed by Kip Fagan, BULL DURHAM has a book by Academy Award-nominee Ron Shelton (director and screenwriter of the Bull Durham movie) and music and lyrics bySusan Werner, whom the Chicago Tribune called, "one of the most innovative songwriters working today."

Swenson's prior Broadway credits include: Priscilla: Queen of the Desert (Drama League Nomination). Will received a Tony, a Drama Desk and a Drama League Nomination for his performance as Berger in the Broadway revival of Hair. He also played the role on London's West End. Other Broadway credits include: 110 in the Shade, Lestat, and Brooklyn: the Musical. Off -Broadway:Murder Ballad, Little Miss Sunshine, Rock of Ages, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Adrift in Macao, The Slugbearers of Kayrol Island, Camelot with the New York Philharmonic. Tours include Miss Saigon, We Will Rock You and Fame! Film and Television credits: "Gods Behaving Badly", "The Switch", and the upcoming "This is Where I Leave You", "The Good Wife", "Law & Order", "6 Degrees". Will is also a film maker. His first film "Sons of Provo" about a clueless Mormon Boy-Band, which he directed, co-wrote and starred in, won several film festivals.
