Will Ferrell to Make Broadway Debut in One Man Show in January 2009

The New York Times is reporting that comedian Will Ferrell will be making his Broadway debut next year. Ferrell will get his own one man show "You're Welcome America. A Final Night with George W. Bush." The show will be directed by Adam McKay. It is scheduled to begin previews on January 20th at the Cort Theater, currently home to The 39 Steps. It will open on February 1st and run through March 15th.

Will Ferrell is an actor comedian who portrayed George Bush for several years on Saturday Night Live. He also was known for his paradoies in the skits "Celebrity Jeopardy", More Cowbell!, and his portrayal of The Spartan Male Cheerleader. His films include Step Brothers, Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Elf, Zoolander, Austin Powers, Winter Passing and Stranger Than Fiction.
