Waiting for the Moon: An American Love Story, Frank Wildhorn's new, jazz-inflected musical about the marriage of literary legends F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald will open at the Lenape Regional Performing Arts Center in New Jersey on July 20th, and run through July 31st; previews will be from July 16th-19th.

"Waiting for the Moon provides an enthralling view of 1920s America through the eyes of two of the 20th Century's most celebrated figures. The lines between fact and fantasy begin to blur as they show us what it's like -- or at least what we think it's like -- to truly fall in love, to defiantly live too much and to decidedly fall too fast," according to the show's production notes.

Waiting for the Moon features book and lyrics by Jack Murphy (The Civil War, Swing!), choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler (Fosse), orchestrations by Kim Scharnberg (Little Women), scenic design by Rob Odorisio, lighting design by Howell Binkley and costume design by Janine McCabe. Ron Melrose is the musical director, while projections are by Michael Clark.  Roy Miller and Lenape Regional PAC's Vincent Marini are the show's producers.

Tony Award-winner Jarrod Emick (Broadway's Damn Yankees revival, The Boy From Oz and The Rocky Horror Show) and Lauren Kennedy (South Pacific in London, Broadway's Side Show and Sunset Blvd.) lead the cast as the Jazz Age lovers in Waiting for the Moon, with Ben Dibble featured as Ben Cameron (The Reporter), Sean Palmer (as Edouard), Leslie Alexander (as Mrs. Sayer) and Courtney Laine Mazza, Mike McGowan, Jordan Cable, Terri Dixon, Alison Cimmet, Tim Federle, Keith Kuhl, Rachel Bress, Kristin Piro, Brandi Wooten, Nova Bergeron and Scott Greer.

Wildhorn's Broadway credits include Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Civil War and Dracula: The Musical.  A pop composer who has written many hits (such as Whitney Houston's chart-topper "Where Do Broken Hearts Go?"), he has also penned songs for Linda Eder's various albums.  Cyrano, Havana and Vienna are the prolific composer's other musical projects.

Waiting for the Moon is one piece in the lineup of Lenape Regional Performing Arts Center's 2005 Summer Series. Lenape Regional PAC's fourth season boasts an impressive lineup featuring Paul Anka, Wayne Brady, Linda Eder, Patti LuPone and Faith Prince, along with Neil Berg's nostalgic 103-year revue of Broadway, a collection of Frank Wildhorn's music, and a revival of Grease infused with music from the movie. The 1,500-seat theater is located at 130 Tomlinson Mill Road in Marlton, New Jersey.

Tickets for Waiting for the Moon are $45 and $50.  In addition, the Lenape Regional PAC will offer eight different ticket packages and generous subscription benefits from June 25th through October 8th.  Contact the box office at (856) 983-3366 or visit www.sjtheater.com for information and tickets.
