Marty Thomas, of Broadways
Wicked, kicked off a concert series with his band on Monday March 21, at NYC's Club XL. Marty will be debuting his original material with a live band, along with a wide variety of cover tunes. Marty will be joined this Monday, April 4, by
Wicked's Kris Cussick (
Chicago cast Fiyero/Broadway ensemble and Fiyero cover) and Asmeret Ghebremichael (Fanny/ensemble). He and his fellow
Wicked castmates will be doing pop duets and songs from the show, and Marty will be performing his original material.
Some of his other Broadway friends will be stopping by to make guest appearance performances as well. Some former guests include
Billy Porter (Ghetto Superstar), Shelley Thomas (Zanna Don't!),
Eden Espinosa (Brooklyn),
Rhett George (Sweet Charity) and a cavalcade of his fellow WICKED castmates.
Marty is a Grammy Nominated Recording Artist, and an Ed McMahons' Star Search Champion (most widely known as "the guy who beat out Britney Spears with a perfect 4 stars performance!). Thomas made his Broadway debut in "The Secret Garden" when he was only 11 years old.
