Cyndi Lauper & Friends: Home for the Holidays star-studded benefit concert will be held on Saturday, December 8th at New York City's Beacon Theatre to help raise awareness about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth homelessness and support the True Colors Fund's Forty to None Project.
Hosted by Carson Kressley, the event will feature special appearances by Whoopi Goldberg, Adam Lambert, Rosie O'Donnell, Sarah McLachlan, Roberta Flack, St. Vincent, Terri Nunn, Emily West, Rita Coolidge, Alexis Krauss, Hunter Valentine and Andy Cohen, with more to be announced.
Lauper made her Broadway debut in Roundabout's 2006 revival of The Threepenny Opera. She composed the music for the Broadway-bound Kinky Boots, which is currently playing in Chicago, and is also composer/lyricist for Find Me and Patti LuPone: Matters of the Heart.
Lauper's debut album "She's So Unusual" won her a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Her most recent studio album (her 11th) is "Memphis Blues". She has been nominated for 14 Grammy Awards, two Emmys and many more honors. Her TV credits include "Mad About You", "Bones", "Celebrity Apprentice" and more. On film, Lauper has appeared in Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle, Life With Mikey, Off and Running, Vibes and The Opportunist.
