WHITE WAVE has announced its deadline for choreographers to submit applications for two thrilling upcoming festivals to be presented this fall: the 10th Anniversary DUMBO DANCE FESTIVAL and 5th Annual WAVE RISING SERIES.

2010 DUMBO DANCE FESTIVAL (Sept. 23rd - 26th)
This year, WHITE WAVE is proud to present our 10th ANNIVERSARY DUMBO DANCE FESTIVAL!! The Festival, to be held at our John Ryan Theater, is designed to showcase the work of approximately 85 emerging and established choreographers and dance companies from all over the United States and abroad. Featuring the freshest and most original contemporary artists, audiences will be able to enjoy up to 8 different companies in each hour of programming. The DUMBO DANCE FESTIVAL will kick off with an OPENING NIGHT GALA followed by a 3-day dance extravaganza in marathon-like performances. Except for the GALA, all performances are presented to the public free of charge.

WAVE RISING SERIES (Oct. 20 - Nov. 7th, 2010)
Launched in 2006, the WAVE RISING SERIES furthers WHITE WAVE's commitment to find, nurture, and expand opportunities for extraordinarily gifted artists. The 5th annual WAVE RISING SERIES will present 20 dance companies, showcased in full-length programs (30 minutes per company) and Opening Night GALA Benefit performances. The SERIES is curated by Young Soon Kim and an eight-member selection panel that includes prominent figures from the dance world. It provides a perfect opportunity for choreographers who want to offer a New York season, but may not have the time or resources to produce a full event on their own. WHITE WAVE handles all of the production and PR for these independent choreographers, and is well known for drawing large and enthusiastic audiences to its John Ryan Theater. We strongly encourage outstanding artists to propose new works for this series, which will run for three weeks.

Application Forms and Guidelines are available at www.whitewavedance.com. For more information contact Young Soon Kim, 718-855-8822, info@whitewavedance.com

WHITE WAVE John Ryan Theater is located at 25 Jay Street in Brooklyn's DUMBO neighborhood.
