Jodi Schoenbrun Carter will join Westport Country Playhouse in Westport, CT, as managing director effective December 10th.
Elisabeth Morten, president of the Playhouse Board of Trustees, announced the appointment today.

Tazewell Thompson, artistic director, has provided and to which we all aspire," said Ms. Morten.
Reporting to the Playhouse Board of Trustees, Ms. Schoenbrun Carter will be responsible for overseeing development, marketing, finance, and general operations, and guiding the strategic thinking for the organization's future.
Ms. Schoenbrun Carter has been general manager for several of Off-Broadway's most acclaimed shows, including the original productions of
Wit,
Fully Committed, and
Avenue Q, as well as recent revivals of
Horton Foote's
The Trip to Bountiful,
John Guare's
Landscape of the Body, and
August Wilson's
Seven Guitars.
For eight years, Ms. Schoenbrun Carter has also served as the president of the Association of Non-Profit Theatre Companies in New York. During this tenure, she was key to the successful creation of a new contract with Actors Equity Association. She is also on the advisory board for Women's Ensemble Theatre.
Currently a resident of Manhattan, Ms. Schoenbrun Carter will be re-locating to Fairfield County.
