Well Urned Productions, in association with C.A.G.E. Theatre Company and Hudson Shakespeare Company, will present Six Degrees of Separation by John Guare

This production will run for nine (9) performances at the Access Theatre (380 Broadway), from March 15-18 and 22-24, 2007 directed by Jon Ciccarelli and Leticia Diaz.  Tickets range from $18 - $20 online and can be purchased through www.wellurnedproductions.com.  All night shows begin at 8pm and matinees begin at 2pm.

"Inspired by a true story, the play follows the trail of a young black con man, Paul, who insinuates himself into the lives of a wealthy New York couple, Ouisa and Flan Kittredge, claiming he knows their children in college. Paul convinces them that he is the son of Sidney Poitier and, captivated by his intelligence and fascinating conversation, they invite him to spend the night. Come the morning, they discover he isn't everything that he claimed to be, and the picture begins to change. After discovering that friends have had a similar run-in with the brash co artist, they begin to piece together the connections that ushered Paul into their lives.  Meanwhile, Paul's cons are unexpectedly leading him into dark territory and his lies begin to catch up with him. As the final events unfold, Oiusa finds herself caring for Paul, feeling that he gave them far more than he took, and that her once idyllic life was not what it seemed," state press notes.

The theatre will also present the New York premiere of Marriage is Murder by Nick Hall.

This production will run for eight (8) performances, from March 29- April 1 and April 5-8, 2007, with a special Easter performance to benefit The Smile Train.  It is directed by JoAnn Oakes and stars Gregory Cilmi and Christie Oakes, NJACT winner of the Perry award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical.  Tickets range from $20-25 and can be purchased through the company's website.  Evening performances begin at 8pm; matinees begin at 4:30pm.

"The play is about ex-spouses Paul and Polly Butler, who write murder mysteries together…with a twist; their unique way of testing the realism of their novels was to actually try out the murder methods... on each other.  Recently estranged, the couple reunites to write one more novel, while trying not to actually kill each other in the process!  Acting out the crimes in Paul's apartment, the delightfully fast paced dialogue and comic plot twists have you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next; poisoned food and drinks, alibis and fingerprints, tied-up bodies in a trunk, daggers, guns and even an axe all contribute to the hilarity. Nobody gets hurt, but their egos take some hits as they find that their marriage was mixed up with their work.  As they attempt to outdo and surprise each other they learn that marriage, like murder, is in the details. The final witty complication is a real murder in which they and the audience will have to solve."

A portion of the proceeds from Six Degrees of Separation will go to benefit the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), with a portion of proceeds from Marriage is Murder to benefit The Smile Train. Advance tickets for both show can be purchased through the company's website at a discount.  Visit www.wellurnedproductions.com for more information and ticket specials.
