Theatre and film luminaries will take part as judges in The Second Annual Battle of the Bards competition, which will be presented on Friday, March 3rd at 7 PM at Crobar (530 West 28th Street).

The Battle of the Bards involves the creation and rehearsal of an original one-act play over the course of two weeks. Seven theatre companies--LAByrinth, Ma-Yi, Intar, Studio 42, Youngblood, Partial Comfort, and Vampire Cowboys--will come up with their own one-acts, which will then be presented before a panel of judges that includes actors Sigourney Weaver (many films, The Guys off-Broadway), Josh Lucas (many films, Corpus Christi off-Broadway), and Diane Neal ("Law and Order"), playwright Christopher Durang (Miss Witherspoon, The Marriage of Bette and Boo), director Jo Bonney (A Soldier's Play, On the Mountain), and Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis, casting director Amy Christopher and journalist David Cote.

An audience favorite award will be presented in addition to the one given by the judges. Proceeds will benefit the production of Baby Girl, the new play that will begin performances at Center Stage on March 10th.

Tickets range from $10 to $50. Visit the following link for tickets.
