Walter Mosley Joins Museum of the Moving Image Board of Trustees

Ivan L. Lustig and Michael Barker, Co-Chairmen of the Board of Trustees of Museum of the Moving Image, today announced that writer Walter Mosley has been elected to serve as a Museum Trustee.

Walter Mosley is one of the most versatile and admired writers in America today. He is the author of more than 55 critically acclaimed books, including the major bestselling mystery series featuring Easy Rawlins. His work has been translated into 23 languages and includes literary fiction, science fiction, political monographs, and a young adult novel. His short fiction has been widely published, and his nonfiction has appeared in The New York Times Magazine and The Nation, among other publications. He is the winner of numerous awards, including an O. Henry Award, a Grammy, and PEN America's Lifetime Achievement Award. He lives in New York City.

"Walter Mosley's creative genius as a writer of both literature and film is widely acclaimed. As a trustee, he brings an artist's perspective to the work of the Museum at a pivotal time of our expansion," said Warrington Hudlin, Vice Chair of the Museum's Board of Trustees.

Museum of the Moving Image (movingimage.us) advances the understanding, enjoyment, and appreciation of the art, history, technique, and technology of film, television, and digital media. In its expanded and renovated facilities-acclaimed for both its accessibility and bold design-the Museum presents innovative interactive exhibitions; screenings of significant works, from Hollywood classics to previews of new films; discussion programs featuring actors, directors, craftspeople, and business leaders; and dynamic education programs which serve more than 50,000 students each year. The Museum also houses a significant collection of moving-image artifacts.
