The Prom will come to Netflix! Ryan Murphy has revealed that he will develop a film version of the Broadway musical to premiere on the streaming service. He is set to keep the Broadway creative team on board.

Global Creatures' Broadway-bound Moulin Rouge and the Huntington Theatre Company's production of Man in the Ring were the big winners at the 23rd Annual IRNE Awards, as the two productions garnered a dozen awards between them. Moulin Rouge took home seven awards, including Best Musical, New Musical and Director in the Large Stage category, and Man in the Ring was honored with five, including the Best Play, Director, and Actor awards. Moonbox Productions' Cabaret earned a half-dozen awards, including Best Musical, and Best Director and Choreography awards for its director, Rachel Bertone. Lauren Patten of JAGGED LITTLE PILL took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for a Large Company.. (more...)

What we're geeking out over: Ryan Murphy To Develop Film Adaptation Of THE PROM For Netflix
Last night six-time Emmy Award winner Ryan Murphy hosted a special performance of The Prom to benefit Hetrick Martin, GLAAD and The Trevor Project.
At curtain call the Glee creator dropped a bombshell when he announced that he'll be adapting the hit musical into a film event for Netflix!
The adaptation will be the first project in Murphy's deal with Netflix. According to his Instagram, Murphy will be bringing the entire Broadway creative team on board for the project.
What we're watching: Find Your Truth With All New MOULIN ROUGE! Teaser
A new block of tickets is now on sale for Moulin Rouge! The Musical, based on the 2001 Twentieth Century Fox Motion Picture by Baz Luhrmann. Moulin Rouge! The Musical will begin performances on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on June 28, 2019 ahead of a July 25 opening night.
Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com now through February 2, 2020 for this open-ended run.
In addition, a new teaser video has been released, titled 'Truth.'

Jeremy Jordan has officially opened up his run in Waitress! He will perform opposite Shoshana Bean as Jenna through May 12. Jeremy succeeds Joey McIntyre who played his final performances on April 7.
