WORDLESS STORIES - The celebrated Romanian one-man-show premieres in the US as part of the United Solo Theatre Festival.
An impressive versatile, witty and spontaneous discourse, whose strength resides in its ability to border on both the bitter and the humorous, Wordless Stories dwells on the passage of time while drawing a smile from its audience.
Created and performed by actor Stefan Ruxanda, who has mastered the craft as a long-term collaborator of the Dan Puric Company - the pantomime theatre that revolutionized the Romanian stage - this is a show about a man on a mission. Or rather about an artist who becomes one with his mission, a performer who remains true to his calling and finds the ultimate motivation in bringing pleasure to those who have chosen to watch his act.
As stories unfold through dance, gesture and improvisation, this rather simple quest emerges in its true profundity, as the artist's inner self and spirituality reveal a man who believes that one must give all on stage. For the measure you use will be measured back to you. After all, there is a touch of Romanian lore and spirituality that transcends words - as well as Wordless Stories.
Performed in festivals in Italy, Germany, Serbia and Romania, the one-man show reaches New York City as part of the United Solo Theatre Festival. The American premiere is due to take place September 23rd, 19h30, at Theatre Row, in the heart of Manhattan.
