WNET, America's flagship PBS station and parent company of THIRTEEN and WLIW and operator of NJTV, will honor five outstanding individuals and their commitment and contributions to WNET's Media with Impact at its annual Gala Salute tonight, June 14.

The Gala will feature a special performance by Broadway star Norm Lewis, which will be livestreamed on thirteen.org at approximately 8:48 p.m. ET.

WNET will honor Angela Lansbury, Francisco D'Souza, Ali and Joe Torre, and Dr. Leonard Tow, recognizing them for their outstanding work in the arts, education, engagement and innovation as it relates to WNET. MetroFocus hosts Jenna Flanagan, Jack Ford, and Rafael Pi Roman will serve as the evening's Masters of Ceremonies.

Just finishing his magnificent Broadway run as the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera, you may also know Mr. Lewis as Senator Edison Davis in Scandal. He has lent his powerful baritone to leading roles as varied as Javert in Les Miserables (on Broadway and in London), Billy Flynn in Chicago and King Triton in The Little Mermaid. A year after being featured in the starry Broadway ensemble of Sondheim on Sondheim, he was tapped to play the title hero opposite Audra McDonald in a reimagined Porgy and Bess, for which he received a Tony nomination.
