Wilfred" is a series about Ryan (Elijah Wood) a man struggling to make his own way in the world when he meets a unique friend named Wilfred (Jason Gann), his neighbor's canine pet. Whereas everyone see Wilfred as just a dog, Ryan sees him a cruel and surly Australian guy in a dog suit. Together Wilfred and Ryan go on adventures and Wilfred teaches Ryan how to overcome his fears and simply embrace the challenges that come his way no matter how insane it is around him at the time.

Widely regarded as one of the most gifted actors of his generation, Elijah Wood continues to challenge himself with roles spanning the spectrum of style and genre.

This summer, Wood has begun production of “Pawn Shop Chronicles,” an action/comedy film written by Adam Miarovich and directed by Wayne Kramer. The story begins with a missing wedding ring which leads to a wild-goose chase involving meth addicts, skinheads and an Elvis impersonator. The movie is currently shooting in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and is set for a 2013 release date.

Wood returns for a 2nd season of the hit FX comedy "Wilfred" on June 28, 2012. The show is a U.S. remake of the Australia hit sitcom which was adapted by “Family Guy” vet David Zuckerman and revolves around a guy (Wood), a girl, and a mixed-breed dog named Wilfred, which Zuckerman describes as part Labrador retriever and part Russell Crowe on a bender.

This August he will be seen among an ensemble cast in “Celeste and Jesse Forever,” opposite Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg. Sony Pictures will be releasing the film August 3, 2012

Wood begins production in “Grand Piano,” later this summer, an indie thriller written by Damien Chazelle and to be directed by Eugenio Mira. The story concerns a once-great concert pianist (Wood) who suffers from stage fright and comes back to perform after a five-year hiatus. Just when he's about to play the first bar, he notices somebody has written a threatening note on his music sheet. He's now forced to play his best concert ever to save his life as well as his wife's. The movie will shoot at Ciudad de la Luz Studios in Alicante, Spain, and in Chicago.

Wood has also been voicing the character of “Beck” In “Tron: Uprising,” the animated science fiction series part of the Tron Series which airs on Disney XD. The series is directed by Charlie Bean.

Last December, Wood wrapped production on Franck Khalfoun's re-make of the thriller "Maniac." Wood stars as Frank Zito, a serial killer who works in an antique shop that sells mannequins, and preys on women after years of abuse from his mad mother. The film had its premiere at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Wood also recently wrapped production in New Zealand on Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" where he will be reprising his role as Frodo out December 13, 2012.

Wood made an indelible mark in the trilogy of films based on J.R.R. Tolkein's "The Lord of the Rings" in the lead role of the hobbit, 'Frodo Baggins.' Directed by Peter Jackson, the films; "The Fellowship of the Ring," "The Two Towers," and "Return of the King" were all critically lauded as well as being box office record setters. In addition, "Return of the King" won the Academy Award for Best Picture as well as 11 Academy Awards in all, tying "Titanic" for the record.

Additional credits include “Treasure Island,” “Happy Feet 2,” “The Romantics,” “9,” “Oxford Murders,” “Paris Je’Taime,” “Day Zero,” “Happy Feet,” “Bobby,” “Everything is Illuminated,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “Hooligans,” “Sin City,” “Ice Storm,” “Ash Wednesday” and “Black and White.”
