Mo Brady and
Nikka Graff Lanzarone announce the release of The Ensemblist's 44th episode: "Life On Tour."
Each year, major theatrical productions travel all across North America, bringing the magic of Broadway to theatregoers who can't get to New York City. Whether opening a new company or joining a show that has already completed its Broadway run, life on tour is a crazy experience all on its own, with different challenges at each stop along the way. Guests
Ryan Jackson,
Rachel Rincione, and
Kirsten Wyatt share their experiences with constantly opening and closing the same show as they travel from city to city.
Jackson (Wicked) has been touring with the Munchkinland Tour of Wicked for 5 years. He reveals how different theatres affect the staging of the show, as well as how vacation rental homes and condominiums, instead of hotels, help to differentiate tour stops. Rincione (LES MISERABLES) explains the various tasks that must take place in each city before an audience arrives, such as sound check and organizing dressing rooms. Wyatt (A Christmas Story, Urinetown, The Boy Friend) talks about how shows differ between the Broadway and touring productions, and how she maintains friendships and relationships while on the road.
