WEARING BLACK Extends at NYMF

THE NEW YORK MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL and DARK PROPHETS PRODUCTION LLC are pleased to announce an added extra performance to the world premiere production of Wearing Black, named by Backstage Magazine as one of the "10 Musical Highlights from NYMF", with book, music and lyrics by Riley Thomas (writer/composer of the sold out award-winning NYMF show STUCK, now a feature film starring Giancarlo Esposito, Amy Madigan and Ashanti.), music direction by Ben Caplan and directed by J. Scott Lapp (Broadway's Bonnie & Clyde; National Tours Murder for Two, Xanadu; Old Globe; La Jolla Playhouse; The Barn Stage Company).

Wearing Black will receive an extra performance on Monday, July 13th @ 9:00 pm at Theater 3 (311 West 43rd Street, 3rd Floor, NY, NY 10036). Other performances are Thursday, July 9th @ 8:00 pm, Friday, July 10th @ 9:00 pm, Saturday, July 11th @ 1:00 pm, Monday, July 13th @ 5:00 pm, and Wednesday, July 15th @ 1:00 pm. Tickets are $27.50 and are available at nymf.org, by calling 212-352-3101, or by visiting the Signature Theatre Box Office (from Midday until the last performance commences).

All Evan wants to do is forget his complicated relationship with his twin brother and move on, but Charlie's tangled relationships keep Evan from truly letting go. As he slips into a spiral of self-destruction, Evan must make a stark decision: either accept and forgive his twin brother, or become him. Winner Best Original Score at FRIGID New York.

Starring Devin Ilaw* (Les Miserables National Tour; Carousel - Playwrights Horizons, Dir. Baayork Lee; The King and I - Dallas Summer Musicals) as Evan, Erin Maya (The Donkey Show - Boston Original Cast; Zapata! The Musical - NYMF 2012) as Kristin, Hayley Anna Norris as Alyssa, BJ Gruber* (Off-Bway: That Bachelorette Show, Awesome 80s Prom, My Big Gay Italian Wedding, My Big Gay Italian Funeral, Sex Tips for Straight Women; 50 Shades - The Musical! Tour), as Nate, Mark Coffin* (Transport - Irish Rep) as Hugh. Alexis Field and Kevin Schuering* (Carousel - Playwrights Horizons, Dir Baayork Lee; Requiem for a Lost Girl - NYMF 2012) are the swings.

Featuring set and lighting design by David Goldstein and fight choreography by Andrew Kenneth Moss. The general manager is Colleen Slattery, and the technical director is Danny Morales. Production stage management by Sophie Quist*, and Madison Decoske* is the assistant stage manager. Casting by Chad Murnane, and press representation by Kampfire PR.
