This month, Broadway's Matt Dickson (who just finished a run in Lincoln Center's War Horse and also appeared in all three parts of The Coast of Utopia) will direct the premiere of THE MAN-MADE ROCK, a dramatic comedy which will run from tonight, December 7-16 at the 4th Street Theatre.

Set in Texas and written by Justin Adams, the cast will feature Broadway veterans Martin LaPlatney (the original Broadway cast of Amadeus, Roundabout's recent The Road to Mecca) and Stephen Bradbury (Dividing the Estate, the original cast of A Few Good Men on Broadway) alongside Blake DeLong, David Marantz (One Life to Live, As The World Turns) and Jon Krupp. Dickson's recent directing credits include Flannel & Lace (Ensemble Studio Theatre), Courting (undergroundzero festival) and In the Zone (Williamstown Theatre Festival).

Taking place in the dripping heat of an East Texas afternoon, in THE MAN-MADE ROCK Kyle Holley has returned home from New York City to confront his past and divulge his secrets over an afternoon of fishing with his father. When they run into one-time family friend Bobby Cartman, a brooding alcoholic with secrets of his own, intentions are swept away as their chance encounter forces unforeseen confrontation. In an environment where honest emotions are seldom discussed, five men on a fishing barge must battle to sort out their sordid history and move forward with their lives.

The production team also includes Kelly Lockwood-Larson (Production Manager), Cate DiGirolamo (Stage Manager), David Arsenault (Set Design), Daniel Dungan (Technical Director/Lighting Design), Andrea Hood (Costume Design), Megan Watters (Scenic Painter), Libby Froeber & Daniel Dungan (Sound Design), Ron Blacksmith (Graphic Design), Shawn Kimball (Shop Supervisor), Zach Harrison (Website Designer), Stephanie Klapper (Casting Director) and Joseph McGee (Producer).

THE MAN-MADE ROCK will run now through Dec 16 at the 4th Street Theatre (83 East 4th Street), with performances Wed.-Sat. at 7:30pm, Sat. at 2pm, Sun. at 3pm and Monday at 7:30pm. Tickets, priced at $15, can be purchased online at www.BrownPaperTickets.com or by phone at 800-838-3006. For more information on THE MAN-MADE ROCK, visit www.TheManMadeRock.com.
