Palmer is making her Broadway debut as the title role in CINDERELLA this fall and also appeared this year in the TV version of the play THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL. She rose to fame after starring in the film AKEELAH AND THE BEE in 2006. She also recently appeared in the movie JOYFUL NOISE with Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton and Jeremy Jordan. Palmer is known for her role in the Nickelodeon show TRUE JACKSON, VP and will soon appear in a recurring role on Showtime's MASTERS OF SEX, now hosts her own talk show on BET, and is working on her second studio album. Her first, SO UNCOOL, was released in 2007.
