And a Happy Birthday shout-out to Frances McDormand, who turns 58 today!
McDormand last appeared on Broadway in Good People, which won her a Tony and a Drama Desk Award in 2011. Before that, she starred in The Country Girl, A Streetcar Named Desire and Awake and Sing! Among her off-Broadway credits are an oak tree, Far Away, The Swan, The Sisters Rosenweig and more. She won an Oscar in 1997 for her role in the Coen brothers' film Fargo and was also nominated for the movies Mississippi Burning, Almost Famous and North Country. More recently, McDormand appeared in the title role for the TV miniseries adaptation of Olive Kitteridge.
