Quote of the Day: In honor of her amazing casting news, a word from Deborah Cox...

"I never take on anything that is just for the money or just for, you know. I always have to connect with it in a very personal way because I believe the audience will sense whether I'm into it or not, so I don't take on projects that I'm not really passionate about."
-- Deborah Cox (via BrainyQuote)

Derricks last appeared on Broadway in Brooklyn. He originated the role of 'James "Thunder" Early' in Dreamgirls, for which he also did the vocal arrangements, and for which he won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in 1982. Among Derricks' other Broadway credits are Big Deal, Your Arms Too Short to Box With God, But Never Jam Today, and the 1977 revival of Hair.
