And a Happy Birthday shout-out to Warren Beatty, who turns 78 today!
Beatty made his Broadway debut in 1959's A Loss of Roses, for which he was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play. He made his film debut in Elia Kazan's Splendor in the Grass, which earned him a Golden Globe nod in 1961. Among his other big screen credits are Tennessee Williams' The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone, All Fall Down with Angela Lansbury, 1967's Bonnie and Clyde -- for which he produced, assembled the writers/director and chose his co-stars -- The Only Game in Town with Elizabeth Taylor, Mike Nichols' The Fortune, Shampoo (which he co-wrote), Heaven Can Wait (which he directed, produced, wrote and acted in and which won three Golden Globes), and the Oscar-winning films Reds, Dick Tracy and Bugsy.
