Rice, an Oscar-, Golden Globe-, Grammy- and Tony-winning lyricist, is known for working with Andrew Lloyd Webber on the musicals Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, and The Wizard of Oz. Rice is also known for his collaborations with Alan Menken on King David and Disney's Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, and with Elton John on The Lion King, Aida and more. He also created and wrote the lyrics for the Broadway musical Chess.
