Video: Rachel Zegler and Kit Connor Talk ROMEO + JULIET Chemistry

Rachel Zegler and Kit Connor had never met each other when they accepted the titular roles in Romeo + Juliet. Still, the actors have found the chemistry required for their roles as they have worked together on the new production of Shakespeare's classic tragedy.

"It's really wonderful to come to work every day and have someone that you deeply, deeply, trust because you are doing a live performance," Zegler explained on the Today Show on Wednesday. "It's very comforting to know that I have somebody that makes me feel held during that process," the actress said of her co-star.

The immersive nature of this particular production was "daunting" Connor said. "I think it kind of helps us so much in terms of grounding us in the play because you feel like the audience is along with you for the ride completely," he shared.

The conversation later turned to Disney's live-action remake of Snow White and Zegler recalled getting a letter from Brandy in support of her casting as the princess, saying it "meant the world." "I'm very thankful for her," she added.

Romeo + Juliet is currently in previews at the Circle in the Square Theatre, with an opening night scheduled for Thursday, October 24.
