The Big Gay Jamboree will open September 30, at the Orpheum Theatre.
The Big Gay Jamboree is heading to the Orpheum Theatre! This fall, the kooky craziness of Marla Mindelle (creator of the hit off-Broadway musical Titanique) is back with an even gayer new musical. What is it all about...?
"It's about a failed actress played by yours truly, who wakes up in her worst nightmare- a Golden Age musical and she has to utilize her BFA in musical theatre to get out," explained Mindelle, who not only stars as 'Stacey', but also co-wrote the book with old friend Jonathan Parks-Ramage.
"We share the same deranged clown brain, which is really a blessing and rarely occurs," added Parks-Ramage.
"It's a big, classic musical comedy with unpredictable edge to it," said director Connor Gallagher. "There's elements of improv and audience participation. There's a beautiful physical production. I think it's going to be a really special evening."
