What's the Secret to Brightman's Beetlejuice?
This afternoon, Broadway's Beetlejuice, Alex Brightman, shared an inside (no, really) look at the vocal technique behind the iconic growl that will help bring his garish ghoul to life eight times a week.
In some medical footage shared by Christine Estes, vocal therapist at The Sean Parker Institute for the Voice, Alex demonstrates healthy ventricular fold phonation, a technique which enables the actor to perform Beetlejuice's signature snarl while keeping his voice in tip top shape.
