Next up at Second Stage Theater is the New York premiere of CULT OF LOVE, directed by Obie Award-winner Trip Cullman. Emmy Award nominated playwright Leslye Headland makes her Broadway debut with this heartwarming and heartbreaking new play about the things that bind families together... or tear them apart.

It’s the holiday season for the Dahl family! The four adult children return to their childhood home with partners in tow. The Dahl traditions include singing carols in harmony at the drop of a hat, but the gathering is anything but harmonious. Old conflicts resurface, new issues battled, and dinner is taking absolutely forever to be served. Will the love the Dahls have for each other be enough to get them through, or will this be their last Christmas together?

"The play is a about a family- a very dysfunctional family," Cullman told BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge during a break from rehearsals. "The dynamics in the room feel also very much like a family... maybe not as dysfunctional as the family in the play, but we  certainly have a ton of really interesting, quirky personalities. We have a lot of people who are coming to this play from very different perspectives and ranges of experience with some of the issues that the play is wrestling with. It creates a really rich and creative environment"

"It's been really exhilarating seeing how the building is built," added David Rasche, who plays patriarch Bill Dahl. "Leslye Headland is a master builder! You see what it was and you see what it now is... and Trip is a good director, but he's an even better audience."

The play also stars Mare Winningham, Molly Bernard, Roberta Colindrez, Barbie Ferreira, Rebecca Henderson, Christopher Lowell, Zachary Quinto, Christopher Sears, and Shailene Woodley.
