In response to last month's disastrous wildfires in Northern California, the Valley of the Moon Music Festival will present a FIRE RELIEF BENEFIT CONCERT on Sunday, December 10 at the Hanna Center in Sonoma. Festival Directors Tanya Tomkins and Eric Zivian will be joined by musicians Cynthia Black, Laura Gaynon, Kumiko Sakamoto and Chris Whitley in a program of works by Schubert, Mendelssohn and more performed on historic instruments. All proceeds will benefit the Sonoma County Resilience Fund.

"It's an honor to be a part of the rich cultural fabric of the Sonoma Valley, and through music we hope to contribute to the rebuilding of a thriving Sonoma community," said Tomkins.

The concert will begin at 4 p.m. with a performance of cello duets by Friedrich August Kummer followed by Schubert's Quartettsatz, selections from Schubert's Cello Quintet and Mendelssohn's Piano Trio in C minor.

Admission to the Fire Relief Benefit Concert is by donation with a suggested gift of $25 to $100 per person. Valley of the Moon Music Festival is pleased to offer free admission to firefighters, first responders and families who lost their homes. No one will be turned away for lack of means.
