Recent DANCING WITH THE STARS standout and popular Broadway/Hollywood presence Valerie Harper discusses her recent battle with cancer and how that has actually further fueled her desire to return to the stage sometime soon, as well as keep working in general, as part of a new interview.
Harper relates that her cancer is regressing and she has been told to stay hard at work, relating, "[My doctor] said, 'At the rate we are going, you don't have to worry. You will see Christmas!'"
Furthermore, she adds, "He said, 'Valerie, you have to work'," before adding, "It's his magic bullet - keep me in front of the oven. And by God, he was right."
So, what specifically does she cite as the special secret to her current successful healing status? "Comedy is saving me," Harper said.
Additionally, Harper asserts, "We are all terminal and it's great to face that - and then discard it."
She firmly intends to prove it, too, by returning to the stage in 2014!
Harper concluded, "Don't live in fear of dying."
