With the recent success of Brian Stokes Mitchell's inauguration (October 23rd) and Peter Gallagher's appearance (Oct. 16th) in the new series of cabaret events in the lobby of the historic Pantages Theatre, Valarie Pettiford will next take center stage in the next installment on December 4th.
The evening begins with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, followed by a dessert reception. The evenings are produced by Martin Wiviott and John Bowab and sponsored by Wells Fargo, Gene & Ann Dickey and the Nederlander Organization.
Pettiford, star of television, film and Tony nominated Broadway actress, has appeared in 10 feature films and over 20 television shows including four seasons on the hit show "Half & Half" (UPN), earning three NAACP Image Award nominations. She starred as Velma Kelly opposite Chita Rivera in Chicago in London, and film credits include The Wiz, The Cotton Club and Glitter. She recently released her first album: "Hear My Soul" and is appearing at the La Jolla Playhouse in The Wiz. She currently has an Ovation Award nomination for her recent performance in The Wild Party.
