As reported by BroadwayWorld, The Tony Award-winning Drama Book Shop, which will be celebrating its 100th birthday in 2017, has suffered a setback recently, after a water pipe burst caused extensive damage to the shop and half of its inventory.
Many prominent names in the theatre community have voiced their support for this beloved New York institution, including an internet campaign for sales generated by HAMILTON's Lin-Manuel Miranda.
As they're been for 99 years, theatre luminaries still frequent the Drama Book Shop every day. Many of them have been happy to take a few moments to express their love for the Drama Book Shop and to come support them in their time of need.
Playwright David Hirson, author of the fascinating and ambitious Broadway comedies LA BETE and WRONG MOUNTAIN calls The Drama Book Shop "an oasis in New York."
