On today's LIVE WITH KELLY, guest Mandy Patinkin talked about the emotional experience he had seeing Jake Gyllenhaal in the Sondheim musical Sunday in the Park with George, now on Broadway. "As the piece began, I just started to weep. And then I was very concerned I would be too loud in the audience crying," shares the actor who originated the role of painter Georges Seurat. After greeting Gyllenhaal and co-star Annaleigh Ashford backstage, Patinkin reveals, "we wept for many minutes!" Watch the appearance below!
Sunday in the Park with George is now running at the historic Hudson Theatre on Broadway for a strictly limited 10-week engagement. Directed by Sarna Lapine, the show began performances on February 11 and officially opened on February 23rd, and will play through Sunday, April 23rd.
