Director Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Tuck Everlasting, Newsies), and screenwriter/ composer Adam Wachter (ABC's Encore!, Wacky Races) just announced the digital release of their award-winning short film Sign.

The short film Sign marks the first collaboration between actor/director/bestselling author Andrew Keenan-Bolger and writer/composer/music director Adam Wachter. Using only silent vignettes, a musical score and American Sign Language, Sign tells the story of the relationship between Ben, a hearing man, and Aaron, who is deaf.

Inspired to portray an under-explored human experience with the help and collaboration of their talented Deaf friends in the New York theatre community, Andrew combined his passion for visual imagery with Adam's flair for musical storytelling.

The film was shot in New York City on a set filled with hearing and deaf actors, ASL interpreters, Deaf consultants and many passionate volunteers.

The film stars John McGinty (Children of a Lesser God on Broadway, Old Globe's Hunchback of Notre Dame), Preston Sadleir (Next to Normal; The Strangers: Prey at Night), Tony Sheldon (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert), Sydney Morton (American Psycho, She's Gotta Have It), Maleni Chaitoo (Master of None), Joshua Castille (Spring

Awakening), Craig Fogel (Don't Shoot the Messenger) and Jennifer Smith (Anastasia, Tuck Everlasting).

Alexandria Wailes (National Anthem: Super Bowl LII, Director of ASL Children of a Lesser God, Spring Awakening,) served as the Director of ASL & Culture.

Since its premiere at Outfest in 2016, Sign has played in more than 50 film festivals worldwide and won awards at 10 major festivals, making it one of the most decorated short films of the year. It won the 'Audience Award' at Newfest - New York's premiere LGBT festival - 'Best Narrative Film' at the Blue-nose Ability Film Festival, and the 'Youth Jury Award' at the Iris Prize - the world's largest prize for short film, to name a few.
