Broadway takes center stage on PBS. Ahead of next week's November 25 premiere, PBS Kids has officially launched the website for its newest series NATURE CAT, which includes sneak peek clips, and a full-length 11-minute story "The Treasure of Bad Dog Bart" on YouTube. Check out the video!
In the episode posted online, multiple Broadway stars make cameos. The song "Dog Gone" is performed by Broadway Tony award-winning star Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Kinky Boots, and lead singer in The Deafening) and Tony Vincent (American Idiot, We Will Rock You, Rent, The Voice). Future episodes also contain guest voices, including Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Sesame Street, and Avenue Q) and Joey Rudman.
Featuring an all-star SNL cast, NATURE CAT will surprise and delight not only kid viewers, but also parents and Broadway fans as they recognize the voices behind the characters and enjoy the multi-generational pop culture references. The series stars an ordinary housecat, Fred (voiced by SNL's Taran Killam), who becomes his alter-ego, "Nature Cat", nature EXPLORER extraordinaire, when his family leaves for the day. Accompanying Nature Cat are his pals Squeaks the mouse (voiced by SNL's Kate McKinnon), Hal the Dog (SNL's Bobby Moynihan) and Daisy, a super-cute pet rabbit ("Big Bang Theory" actor Kate Minucci) as they embark on action-packed adventures, perilous missions, nature investigations, 'a-ha" discovery moments and loads of humor!
NATURE CAT premieres on Wednesday, November 25th on PBS Kids (check local listings). Tally Ho!
