VIDEO: Sir Patrick Stewart Speaks Out on Violence Against Women

An audience member offered her thanks to Sir Patrick Stewart at Comicpalooza 2013, for his speech at Amnesty International about violence against women and for the personal effect it had on the speaker, who had suffered sexual abuse. He offered the audience member a hug, saying "You never have to go through that again, you're safe now." Click below to watch his response!

Stewart, best known for his role on television as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek and in the X-Men films, has appeared on Broadway in No Man's Land, Waiting for Godot, A Life in the THeatre, Macbeth, The Caretaker, A Christmas Carol (which he also directed), The Ride Down Mt. Morgan, The Tempest and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Upcoming film projects include Hunting Elephants, Match, Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
