In an exclusive interview with E News this week, actress Rachel McAdams revealed that she would be interested in being a part of Tina Fey's upcoming stage musical adaptation of the classic 2004 film MEAN GIRLS.
"Sure," McAdams told E News. "I mean, I loved that movie. I love Tina Fey. I love the girls. I mean, to get to kind of have a reunion would be...we got to have a reunion at a photo shoot a couple of years ago and it was over like that and it wasn't enough. I was back in it." It was announced earlier this month that the MEAN GIRLS musical will premiere in Washington, D.C. A theater and date have yet to be revealed.
McAdams starred in the 2004 movie with Fey, Lindsay Lohan, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried. Back in March, Fey told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she has no plans to be in the stage show, which she described as a "classic Broadway" production. She also joked that it wouldn't hit the Great White Way until 2027, "when Hamilton closes."
