"Up there on the screen, we can all fly, but down here on earth we need to be each other's wings," says this year's Oscar winner for Best Actor Eddie Redmayne in the new Screen Actors Guild Foundation public service announcement released online this week.
In addition to Redmayne, the SAG Foundation PSA features SAG Awards® winners Uzo Aduba, Laverne Cox, Taylor Schilling and Danielle Brooks (ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK); Felicity Jones (THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING); Andy Serkis (LORD OF THE RINGS, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES); Zach Braff (WISH I WAS HERE, SCRUBS); Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Miles Brown, Marsai Martin (BLACK-ISH); Jenny Slate (OBVIOUS CHILD); Judith Light (TRANSPARENT); and SAG Foundation President JoBeth Williams. Actor and SAG Foundation supporter Julianna Margulies (THE GOOD WIFE) introduced a previous version of the PSA at the 21st Annual SAG Awards before the live broadcast.
All of the actors donated their time and talent to the project to help raise awareness and support for the SAG Foundation's free educational and assistance programs for SAG-AFTRA members and their families as well as its children's literacy programs that reach millions of students in Title I public schools every month nationwide.The SAG Foundation 2015 PSA will screen before more than 900 free educational programs nationwide reaching live audiences of more than 40,000 union performers.
