Megan Hilty stopped by CBS THIS MORNING to talk about the renewed interest in the NBC musical drama series SMASH, which signed off the airwaves after only two seasons. Watch the interview in full below!
"The fan-base has grown so much since the show got canceled, which is sad," notes the actress who portrayed Ivy Lynn in the series.
She continued, "The show ended just as I feel like the whole binge-watching phenomenon started. So now people are looking for shows to binge-watch, and I think that's where all these amazing fans have come from. I'm reading on Twitter all over the place, 'I can't believe I missed this while it was on air and now I can't get enough of it.'"
Starring Debra Messing, Megan Hilty, Jack Davenport, Katharine McPhee, Christian Borle, Will Chase, Jeremy Jordan and Anjelica Huston, the NBC show centered on a fictional New York City theater community and the creation of a new Broadway musical.
The upcoming concert presentation of the musical Bombshell from the TV series "Smash," created by Theresa Rebeck with music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, co-directed by Joshua Bergasse and Scott Wittman with choreography by Joshua Bergasse recently sold out in just one hour. The one-night only landmark event benefitting The Actors Fund will be held Monday evening, June 8, 2015 at The Minskoff Theatre (1515 Broadway).
