VIDEO: Madonna Sings PIAF's 'La Vie En Rose' on Rebel Heart Tour

Madonna launched her highly anticipated Rebel Heart Tour with a sold-out show at the Bell Centre in Montreal just less than two weeks ago, and BroadwayWorld has obtained a performance video! Below, watch as Madonna sings "La Vie En Rose"- signature song of Edith Piaf, the subject of the Broadway musical PIAF- with just a ukelele as accompaniment!

PIAF is a play by Pam Gems that focuses on the life and career of French chanteuse Edith Piaf. The biographical drama with music portrays the singer in as a self-destructive, promiscuous alcoholic and junkie who, in one controversial scene, urinates in public.

The original production starred Jane Lapotaire in the title role, and included Ian Charleson as Pierre. It premiered in 1978 at RSC. The Other Place in Stratford-upon-Avon, after which it moved to the Donmar Warehouse in London, the Aldwych Theatre, the Piccadilly Theatre, and then Wyndham's Theatre, before going to the U.S.

In The U.S. the play began in Philadelphia. After six previews the show opened on Broadway at the Plymouth Theatre on February 6, 1981 with its original star, Jane Lapotaire. It ran for 165 performances, and Jane Lapotaire won the 1981 Tony Award.

The Rebel Heart Tour is directed by Jamie King with musical direction by Kevin Antunes (the band's keyboardist Ric'key Pageot, drummer Brian Frasier-Moore, guitarist Monte Pittman, and background vocalists Kiley Dean and Nicki Richards),lead choreography by Megan Lawson, hair by Andy LeCompte, makeup by Aaron Henrikson, and costume design by Arianne Phillips.

The set list spans all decades of the iconic superstar's illustrious career, including songs from her current album Rebel Heart (the No. 1 Dance hits "Living for Love" and "Bitch I'm Madonna," to classic fan favorites like "Material Girl" and "Holiday" and a "Dress You Up" medley that included "Get Into The Groove," "Everybody," and "Lucky Star."
