Lauren Ambrose talks about the responsibility she feels playing Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, why she's become a bit of a hypochondriac and her childhood audition on Star Search on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
Lauren was last seen on the Lincoln Center Theatre stage in Awake and Sing! The actress appeared on Broadway in Exit the King and Off-Broadway: Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and Ophelia in Hamlet, both at The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park. A two-time Emmy Award nominee for her performance in the HBO series "Six Feet Under," her other film and television credits include Where the Wild Things Are, directed by Spike Jonze, Wanderlust, Sleepwalk with Me, Starting Out in the Evening, I'm Coming Over, The River, "Torchwood," "Law & Order: SVU," and "The X-Files."
Lincoln Center Theater's new production of Lerner & Loewe's My Fair Lady, officially opened April 19th at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).
My Fair Lady, considered the most beloved musical of all time, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, music by Frederick Loewe, directed byBartlett Sher, is Thursday, April 19.
Lerner & Loewe's My Fair Lady features a cast of 37 headed by Lauren Ambrose, HARRY Hadden-Paton, Norbert Leo Butz, Diana Rigg, Allan Corduner, Jordan Donica, Linda Mugleston, and Manu Narayan. HARRY Hadden-Paton and Diana Rigg are appearing with the support of Actors' Equity Association.
