People all over the country have been raising their voices against the family separation crisis, and Luis Miranda, Jr., father of Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel, is one of them. On Trump's immigration policy, he told Chris Cuomo: "It's a way of showing Latin America, 'Don't come, you're not welcome, and there are horrible consequences if you come to our country- particularly if you come to get asylum with your kids."
How do we fix it? "You fix it by the outcry of the people," says Miranda "When you show those in government, Democrats or Republican, that the people are thinking differently, and that they want action, that's when you change policy."
Luis A. Miranda, Jr., a native of Puerto Rico, is the chairperson of The Broadway League's Latino audience development program, Viva Broadway.
