America wasn't quite loving Lucy yet in 1933 when she purchased a home in West Hollywood after signing up with RKO. Heck, Lucy wasn't even loving Desi yet, as the pair wouldn't meet until they started work on the 1940 film version of the Broadway hit TOO MANY GIRLS.

As reported by House Beautiful, the 1874-square-foot home, originally built in 1919, is being offered by realtor Rhonda Kohn for $1.75 million.

Legend has it that Ball's grandfather held meetings with his Communist Party friends at the house. Under his influence, Ball herself registered as a member of the Communist Party in 1936, which got her into trouble later with the House Un-American Activities Committee when her television hit "I Love Lucy" was at the height of its popularity. Her husband Desi Arnaz helped clear up the matter with his famous quip, "The only thing red about Lucy is her hair, and even that is not legitimate."

If you're in the neighborhood this weekend you might want to attend an open house. (Click here for details.) If not, check out the photos in the video.
