For the first time, global superstar Jennifer Lopez and Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of Broadway's HAMILTON, performed their new duet "Love Make the World Go Round" live on the TODAY plaza this morning. All proceeds from the song will go to the Hispanic Federation's Proyecto Somos Orlando to benefit the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting. In the audience were 50 survivors of the Orlando shooting and their families.

Following the performance, Miranda and Lopez spoke to TODAY about the song. Explained Lopez, "I've had this song 'Love Make the World Go Round' for maybe eight months, and I loved the song, I loved the hook, and when everything happened in Orlando I kind of heard it in a different way and I was like 'the world needs this right now.'" Jennifer Lopez, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Epic Records are proudly donating 100% of their proceeds (at least ninety-one cents) from each U.S. download sale of the single "Love Make The World Go Round" on iTunes from July 8, 2016 to October 5, 2016 to the Hispanic Federation for the Somos Orlando Fund, to benefit those affected by the Pulse shooting in Orlando. Proyecto Somos Orlando will provide bilingual culturally-competent social services to impacted families and the broader community. Needed services include case management, crisis intervention, grief counseling, mental health services, legal assistance and educational programs. It will be housed in the same facility as Hispanic Family Counseling (HFC), building on their culturally competent mental health and expanding services, all to be provided under one roof in the heart of the Hispanic community.
