Jennifer Damiano and Alice Ripley didn't exactly play out the healthiest of daughter/mother relationships when they starred together in Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt's Pulitzer-winner NEXT TO NORMAL, but offstage they're great friends.
They were reunited last season in Duncan Sheik and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's AMERICAN PSYCHO and now Ripley is a special guest for each performance of Damiano's cabaret debut engagement at Feinstein's/Studio 54.
Here's a taste of their duet of a Ripley original at last night's opening. Remaining shows are July 29th at 30th at 9:30pm.
Jennifer Damiano and her Broadway mom and real life friend Alice Ripley are back together #LiveAt54 with a Ripley original!
Jennifer Damiano made her Broadway debut at age 15 in Spring Awakening before her breakout performance as 'Natalie' in Next to Normal and later originated the role of Mary Jane Watson in Bono and The Edge's Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Written with Pulitzer-prize winner Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal) with new arrangements by music director Benjamin Rauhala(American Psycho) and produced by John Mara Jr., the concert will take a look back at Damiano's whirlwind of an adolescence in the theater, with favorite melodies from her life and career throughout.
Featuring Special Guests Adam Chanler-Berat (July 30 Only), Meghann Fahy, Robi Hager (July 29 only), and Alice Ripley.
